About

I traveled to Scotland for work and stayed on for a week to move through the Highlands, where the landscape shifts constantly between dramatic and understated. The scale of it makes you feel small in a way that’s oddly calming — long stretches of open road, weather that changes without warning, and mountains that seem to hold the sound around them. I took a ferry to the Isle of Skye, which felt even more remote: narrow roads, scattered homes, and a sense that the everyday world was happening somewhere far away. These photographs come from that week, made in places that felt both rugged and quietly magical.
