Resonance Works
Large-scale commissioned works co-created with the natural environment, designed to reflect the energy of your space and your relationship to the environment.
Create your Personal Sanctuary
I believe your environment is the foundation of how you think, feel, and perform.
When it’s aligned, you feel calm, focused, and at home in yourself.
When it’s off, everything feels harder.
Resonance Works bridge that gap. Each piece is designed as a visual sanctuary: a mirror that reflects back your authentic energy, your highest focus, your most inspired state.
Works can be made in or with resources from a natural environment that moves you; made in response to music, or simply be a painting based on existing styles I’ve established.
I take 10 commissions per year and consider it an honor to contribute to your personal sanctuary.
Works Made with Fire
Working with paper, fire, and carbon, I’ve developed a language of gesture and mark — at once violent and seductive. The resulting pieces are often burned through in places, their surfaces layered with carbon from logs carefully chosen for the patterns their bark leaves behind.
Works Made with the Ocean
The ocean is a powerful force, capable of leaving the most delicate and beautiful patterns along the shore. I offer it a painted work, allow the sand to imprint itself upon the surface, and then return to the studio to continue the conversation. The resulting pieces are layered with sand and often sculptural in nature, embodying the presence and energy of the sea.
FAQs
What is this offer?
1
Resonance Works are large-scale paintings co-created with natural forces and pigments, designed to reflect you, your sensibilities, and the energy of your space. In fact, they are more than paintings—they are site-specific works that become both a conversation starter and an anchor in your home.
How big are the paintings?
2
Typically large-scale: from 40 x 60” up to 60 x 104”. Each is tailored to your space.
What does the process look like?
3
1.) A deposit is made and contract is signed. 2.) I visit your space (in person if possible, or virtually), guide you through some considerations (colors, atmosphere, etc.) and review exemplars together. 3.) I produce a creative brief and schedule for your approval. 4.) We do a total of 2 progress check-ins, where we’ll review sketches, color tests, and you’ll receive photo updates. You can request 2 revisions. 5.) I produce the final piece. 6.) When complete and all remaining payments are made, the piece will be shipped to you or your framer.
Your initial site visit (virtual or in-person; if I have to travel, travel expense is additional); a creative brief, and a video depicting the creation of the piece, which is like a performance.
